🚨 What you need to know this week
1. Facebook monetization just closed its strongest year yet, and 2026 is lining up even bigger. 2025 was a monster year for FB monetization. Probably the biggest we’ve ever seen across our network. December alone was insane - over 90% of Pages we track were offered extra bonuses, many getting +20% on top of their normal earnings. Stack that with peak Q4 engagement and the steady upgrades Facebook keeps shipping in the dashboard, and a lot of pages had their best months ever. Even better, pages that were suspended or stuck earlier in the year are coming back online and clearing five figures again within weeks. And that’s before you count referral traffic to sites. From what we’re seeing, monetization is stabilizing and Facebook is clearly setting itself up to pay publishers more in 2026.
2. Facebook's new Creator Referral Bonus is live. Reports coming in of Facebook paying up to $125 for referring Pages with 20K–100K followers and $250 for Pages with 100K+ followers that get approved into Content Monetization. It hasn't rolled out to everyone yet but it's an indication of how serious Facebook is about growing the program like crazy. You can expect Content Monetization to come out of Beta sometime very soon, and then the fun (and big-time earnings) will really start.
3. Elon Musk wants X to pay creators more than YouTube,Facebook to follow.Musk publicly signaled that X is ready to boost creator payouts, telling his product team to move fast while “rigorously” cracking down on fraud. The promise is higher earnings tied to cleaner engagement, with X claiming it has a new system that could eliminate most payout manipulation. Here’s the part publishers should actually care about: Whenever X moves, Facebook follows…and usually scales it. We’ve seen this in the past year: Facebook copied Community Notes, loosened content moderation, rolled back over-enforcement, and suddenly reach and payouts snapped back to levels we haven’t seen in 5+ years. Creator monetization is next. When platform competition heats up, creators win. And right now Facebook is positioning itself to absorb the biggest share of that upside.
4. The Google Publisher Apocalypse continues…The December Google Core Update finished rolling out, and a lot of news publishers got hit. Hard. Search visibility dropped fast for some very big sites, especially India-based publishers in U.S. SERPs. But it definitely didn’t stop there. US and EU publishers were swinging all over the place too. What’s worse - we’re getting reports of collapses across Discover, Google News, and Top Stories even though Google has repeatedly said Discover has minimal overlap with Search. Maybe some sites may bounce back, maybe not. That’s the reality of building on Google in 2026.
What’s happening? When brands are asked which platforms drive real business results, Facebook still comes out on top. It leads overall at 70%, ranks highest for B2C at 67%, and remains a top performer across B2B and mixed models. YouTube and TikTok also matter, but neither consistently matches Facebook’s breadth of impact.
What does that mean for you? Despite the noise, Facebook remains the most reliable platform for turning attention into outcomes. It’s not just about views but also reach that converts and engagement that sticks. The smart strategy isn’t choosing one platform. It’s making sure Facebook stays at the center of your growth stack.

🧠 Strategy of the week
HOW TO 2-3X YOUR FACEBOOK REACH WITH THE RIGHT CAPTION STRATEGY
1. Match caption length to the job.
The length you choose should match what you’re trying to trigger in the feed. Speed, depth, or dwell time. Most pages lose reach because every post looks and reads the same.
2. Use short captions for fast hits.
Best for:
Breaking news
Simple updates
Strong single-sentence hooks
Keep it tight. No context dumping. You’re trying to stop the scroll, not explain everything.
3. Use medium captions for daily performance.
This is your default format.
Add a quick insight
Explain why it matters
Keep it readable in one screen
Enough substance to feel valuable, short enough to stay readable. This is where most consistent reach comes from.
4. Deploy long captions to force dwell time.
Go deep
Trigger the “See more” click
Explain, teach, or frame a story
Then drop a strong first comment to extend the session.

FEBRUARY 3, 2026 PUBLISHER INSIDER 🚨 What you need to know this week 1. Facebook is approving Pages for monetization at full speed. Invites are coming in faster than we’ve ever seen. Faster than last week, and last week was already aggressive. Smaller Pages are getting approved quickly, and the volume keeps climbing day by day. When invites stack like this, it usually means the beta rules are about to disappear and production rules take over. If your Page is set up right and posting...

JANUARY 27, 2026 PUBLISHER INSIDER 🚨 What you need to know this week 1. Facebook is handing out monetization invites faster - and to smaller Pages than ever. Pages that are set up correctly are getting approved in as little as 30–60 days, not the long wait everyone used to expect. And this isn’t just for big accounts. We recently saw a Page with around 4K followers get the invite. That tells you everything. Facebook is no longer waiting for massive scale. It’s prioritizing quality,...
