In today’s issue: what X’s new Original Content Rewards Program signals for every publisher on every platform, four stories from the last 24 hours, and the NewsBomb leaderboard.

  INSIDER ANALYSIS

X just killed its old creator payouts and replaced them with the Original Content Rewards Program. Facebook and YouTube are already doing the exact same thing.

X Original Content Rewards Program

X is rolling out something called the Original Content Rewards Program. The old Creator Revenue Sharing program is done. Creators can enroll now, submit for review, and should hear back within three business days. This is not a small policy tweak. It is a full program replacement, and it lines up with what Facebook and YouTube have been doing all year.

Creator Revenue Sharing ended September 7. The new Original Content Rewards Program went live September 8. The old system had a well-known problem: it paid out on engagement with no real filter for whether the content was actually original. So naturally, reuploaders, engagement farmers, and bot accounts showed up in force to game the payouts. The new program flips that. It is built around originality, and X is putting the money behind creators who actually make their own content on the platform.

The rules are worth reading carefully. To stay in good standing, you need to post original content that has not appeared on the platform before. If you want to share someone else’s work, you have to use Quote Repost or Video React rather than downloading and reuploading it. Coordinating with other accounts to artificially boost reach is out, and so is using AI to automate posts or replies.

That AI rule is the one worth paying attention to. X is saying plainly that if you are using AI to churn out automated posts or replies, you are done. The program rewards original content posted directly on X and penalizes everything else.

Here is where it gets bigger than just X, though. Facebook is doing the same thing. YouTube is doing the same thing. Meta published an update earlier this year confirming it rewards original content creators with greater reach and monetization while deprioritizing unoriginal content. Reused, low-effort, recycled material is now one of the most common disqualifiers for Facebook monetization. Accounts that violate the originality guidelines get classified as non-recommendable, which means the algorithm will not surface their content to new audiences at all. That is not a warning. That is a hard ceiling on your business.

YouTube is the same story. Its 2026 algorithm picks videos for individual people, not audiences for videos. There is no single metric to game. Watch time, likes, and satisfaction surveys all carry different weights depending on the viewer and the device. The system uses satisfaction signals to separate time spent from actual quality, because sitting through twenty minutes for a payoff that never comes is a bad experience, not a good metric. You are not faking your way through that with stolen content.

The pattern across all three platforms is impossible to miss now. Every one of them is cracking down on originality harder than anything else. It does not matter if it is YouTube, Facebook, or X. If you are copying or stealing content, you are going down. The people producing original content are going to be monetized and prioritized above everyone else. Expect more of this across every platform. That is the direction the whole industry is moving, and if you are not building your operation around original content, you are on the wrong side of it.

GEO AUTHORITY SYSTEM

Every platform now rewards originality. AI search is no different.

X, Facebook, and YouTube are all moving to originality-first programs. The same shift is happening in AI search: ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini cite the brands they recognize as original authorities, and ignore everyone else. The GEO Authority System is your full AI visibility diagnosis and the 90-day plan to fix it, so when someone in your niche asks an AI engine who leads, the answer is you.

P.S. The pattern from today's analysis is hard to miss: X, Facebook, and YouTube are all converging on the same rule. Original content gets paid and promoted. Everything else gets buried. That is not a single-platform quirk. It is the direction the entire industry is moving, and it is accelerating. If you want to see how that shift maps to your own operation in real time, the Control Room is where we track what is moving and what to do about it.
