How Publishers Are Actually Getting The CM Invite Right Now

Content Monetization playbook

The Content Monetization invite is still the barrier to earning on Facebook, and the playbook for getting it has quietly standardized. Here is what the market is converging on.

Most of the pages clearing CM right now launched in 2026. They are not legacy pages with years of history. They are new builds, purpose-built around a Reels-first growth model and a small ad budget. That shift in who is getting in, and how fast, is worth studying.

The dominant playbook starts with buying a seed audience through Facebook ads. Publishers spend roughly 300 dollars to acquire around nine to ten thousand followers on a new page, then use that base to clear a content-views threshold that Facebook requires before extending the CM invite. A few hundred dollars in ad spend to unlock a revenue stream. Pages started as recently as March 2026 are reporting invites within weeks of hitting the target.

What is more interesting than any single page getting in is the scale at which operators are repeating this. Some publishers are running 30 or more pages simultaneously, all in the same niche, all geo-targeted to roughly 80 percent US and 20 percent UK, Australia, and Canada. The strategy is portfolio-based: launch many pages, get CM enabled on as many as possible, and let volume compensate for the fact that any individual page might earn low.

The operational mechanics for scaling these pages have also standardized:

1. Create a new page with a profile photo, cover image, and about section. Let it sit for 24 hours. Spend two to three minutes scrolling and interacting after creation, then leave it untouched.

2. Post three Reels per day with text descriptions and three topic tags. After one to three weeks of consistent posting, pages get picked up by Facebook's suggested-pages system and grow organically to 30,000 or more followers.

3. Only schedule two to three days ahead on a new page. Scheduling 30 days out early on reportedly triggers flags. Expand to longer scheduling windows once the page has history.

4. Reels outperform static images for reach and are the default growth format. Shorter Reels around six seconds generate high view counts through looping, though 15 to 30 second lengths also work.

A notable detail: AI-generated content does not appear to be a barrier. Facebook's system detects and labels AI content, but publishers using it report no negative impact on CM eligibility or timing. The key is that the content maintains originality and reflects the page's own voice. The platform seems indifferent to the production method as long as the output is distinctive and engagement thresholds are met.

The strategic question most operators face is whether to keep investing in older pages that have CM enabled but earn low, or to start fresh using the Reels-first method and build stronger distribution profiles. The answer depends on niche competitiveness and whether existing pages were built on image posts that never developed meaningful Reels reach.

Right now, the path from zero to CM-enabled page is more documented and repeatable than ever. The barrier is execution speed and willingness to operate at portfolio scale.

1 Google is quietly rolling out a pay-per-value AI licensing program that pays publishers through a new Search Console earnings widget when their content contributes to Gemini, AI Overviews, and AI Mode responses, with dozens of publishers in the pilot (Digiday, Sep 14). licensing pilot details →
2 Facebook is now surfacing post-level quality surveys directly below content in the feed, asking users whether the post above was worth their time on a scale from "Completely" down to "Not at all." This is a quality signal collected at the individual-post level, and repeated poor ratings from users can suppress an entire page's distribution over time, not just the flagged post. Publishers running high-volume pages should monitor whether their content mix triggers these prompts (observed Sep 15). full context on Threads →
