Alerts when a post takes off, replies drafted for you. What it means for your pages and your team.
|
|
Meta has updated Creator Assistant, the AI chatbot it launched in June, and two of the changes matter most if you run Facebook pages.1
First, alerts. The assistant now watches your account and tells you when a post is gaining traction, when your followers jump, or when a trend relevant to your content appears. It works from your account’s own audience and performance data. Alerts are on by default, and you can turn them off.2
Second, replies. The assistant picks out the comments and conversations that need an answer and drafts replies in your voice. You can review and edit each one before it is published.2
There are three smaller pieces. Give it an idea and it returns a storyboard and a shot list. Upload a draft before you post and it gives specific feedback on what is working and what could be better.1 And it now runs on the web inside the Creator Dashboard, as well as on mobile and in Creator Studio. It launched for creators in the US, Canada and India and is expanding to more countries. Meta says to check the homepage of your Creator Dashboard to see whether you have it.2
Here is how we would put the two big features together, whether you run a handful of pages yourself or a portfolio with a social and community team. This part is our own suggestion.
When an alert says a post is taking off, treat it as a deadline. Whoever manages that page publishes a follow-up on the same angle while the first post is still spreading. On a team, decide in advance who owns which page or niche, so whoever gets the alert knows the page is theirs to act on. The editor for each sister page in the same niche then adapts the angle in that page’s own words. A solo owner does the same, one page at a time. Pin a comment on the original post that points people to the follow-up. If you ever put ad money behind a post, this is the post to pick.
Then use the drafted replies during the spike. A post that is spreading collects comments fast, and unanswered questions pile up. Whoever owns the page opens the assistant, goes through the comments it picked out, and edits each draft. Add the detail only your team knows, like the price, the place, the date or the next step. Our view is that a thread where questions get answered quickly gives people a reason to stay and comment again.
Review in batches. Solo owners can set two or three windows in the day. A team can run a review window per shift or per editor, so each page’s drafts are read by the person who knows that page. Open the drafts, fix the ones that sound off, approve the rest. Trend alerts can feed your content calendar the same way: a relevant trend becomes an idea, the idea goes to the assistant for a storyboard and shot list, and the draft goes back for feedback before it is posted.
Here is why this matters for staffing. Watching pages for what is working and answering comments is the work publishers have hired community managers, social editors and virtual assistants to do, or done themselves for hours a day. If the assistant does the watching and writes the first draft of each reply, whoever does that job moves from writing every answer to reviewing them.
Our view is that this changes how many pages each person can manage. The limit used to be how many comment sections one person could keep up with. Now it leans more on how fast they can review. For a media company, that points to each community manager or social editor covering more pages and assets, and to a team covering a larger portfolio without adding headcount at the same rate. For a solo owner, it points to running more pages yourself.
Keep the limits in view. A person still reads every reply before it goes out. A reply with a real detail from your team will beat a generic one, and if every page approves drafts untouched, comment sections will start to sound alike. Alerts are on by default, so check that they fit how your team works. If they get noisy, you can switch them off.

The Daily News, Chicago Tribune and Orlando Sentinel filed a similar suit the same day. Brave had not responded when the story ran. TechCrunch →
