Meta just showed you when the highest RPMs hit

Meta holiday marketing data and RPM trends

Meta’s latest holiday marketing guides map the exact periods when advertiser spending surges. For publishers earning through Content Monetization, that surge translates directly into higher RPMs.

Meta published a series of holiday marketing guides this month that are aimed at advertisers, but the data inside them matters just as much to publishers. The guides map the phases of the holiday shopping season and show exactly when ad budgets ramp up, plateau, and peak. For anyone earning through Facebook Content Monetization, those phases are a preview of the RPM curve from now through the end of the year.

The numbers in the guides explain why. According to Meta, 86 percent of global holiday shoppers use social media for inspiration across Reels, Stories, and Feed, and the 2026 holidays are expected to drive more than 1.4 trillion dollars in retail spend with online shopping growing 2.5 times faster than in-store. Meta is telling advertisers to start campaigns by mid-October so their systems finish the learning phase before Black Friday. That means ad spend on Facebook starts climbing well before the peak days themselves, and CPMs follow. Industry benchmarks show that Q4 holiday CPMs on Meta can jump 30 to 80 percent above baseline, with Black Friday and Cyber Monday often doubling or tripling normal rates.

For publishers the math is straightforward. When more advertisers bid on inventory across Facebook, the ads served against your content pay more per impression. Content Monetization RPMs track advertiser demand, and advertiser demand tracks the retail calendar. The three highest-RPM corridors each year are the same ones Meta is now coaching brands to prepare for: the mid-October ramp, the Black Friday through Cyber Monday window, and the final pre-Christmas push. Meta recorded a 24 percent year-over-year jump in ad revenue during Q4 2025, reaching 58.1 billion dollars, and called it a period of record holiday advertising demand.

This year Black Friday falls on November 27, leaving only 28 days until Christmas. Meta flagged that compressed window explicitly, noting that more demand will be packed into a shorter corridor. For publishers, that compression is an advantage: a tighter spending window means a sharper RPM spike, not a longer, flatter one. The pages that benefit most will be the ones already producing consistent, high-engagement content when the ad dollars arrive, not the ones trying to ramp up in November. If you want a system built to get your page to that level before the Q4 window opens, the Facebook Monetization Suite was designed for exactly this.
